Common Update Problems and How to Fix Them

Cannot Update Translator++ After Subscription or Pledge Change

One common issue that users may encounter when updating Translator++ is not being able to update the software right after subscribing or updating their pledge. This is because it can take up to 30 minutes for Translator++ to sync with the Patreon system. If you encounter this issue, it is recommended to wait for the syncing process to complete, which should take no longer than 30 minutes. After that, you should be able to update Translator++ without any further issues.

This point is also explained in the FAQ section : https://dreamsavior.net/docs/translator/faq/i-changed-my-pledge-but-my-points-level-is-not-increasing/

File checksum integrity test has failed

Code: crcNotMatch

The error indicates that the downloaded patch doesn’t match the expected signature. This mechanism is in place to prevent tampered and malicious patches from harming your system.

This can be a false alarm if your Translator++ cannot execute PHP script. To fix that see the following “Cannot run PHP script” section

Cannot run PHP script

Code: phpNotInstalled

This error indicates that Translator++ cannot execute PHP scripts with the built-in PHP interpreter. This could happen due to several reasons:

  1. Translator++ is installed in a symbolic link location (i/e. My Documents, Desktop, Downloads, OneDrive, etc.)
Solution: Move Translator++ to a hard path location, for example, C:\Translator++
  2. The required MSVC runtime is not installed on your machine. Solution: To be safe, install all existing MSVC runtimes on your machine, both 32-bit and 64-bit.
