Translator++ Ver. 7.9.27 – Batch API For gemini

Hello fellow Translators,

The intense summer heat has finally passed, and cooler days are setting in. I hope all of you are in good health and that your translation projects are progressing smoothly.

This month marks an important milestone for Translator++:

NW2 Enablement

NW2 is an advanced feature of NWJS, the engine that powers Translator++ as well as numerous applications and games.

Migrating the core engine of an application is never easy. It’s a complex process, especially when existing features are deeply intertwined with the old system. It takes time to ensure the migration goes smoothly. Honestly, I was very reluctant to move to the latest NW.js engine, since newer engines often require more system resources. In fact, I had planed this migration for more than a year.

However, recent developments gave me strong motivation to move forward with the migration. Here are some of the main reasons:

Gemini Nano Integration

AI running directly inside the browser has become a new standard. At the time of writing, Chrome has already introduced AI-powered APIs such as the Translator API, Language Detector, and Summarizer API. Google is also preparing to release additional APIs like Prompt API and Summarizer API.

These are very exciting opportunities for translation. Right now, Translator++ users can already take advantage of Gemini Nano through Chrome. But soon, this may be possible directly within Translator++—no external browser required.

Free & unlimited translation using Gemini Nano

Imagine having a translator, proofreader, and summarizer integrated directly into Translator++, available for free, offline and without limits. What could be better than that?

As for translation quality, Gemini Nano is already showing promising results. Of course, it depends on the language pair, but for many languages the quality is surprisingly strong—better than older offline solutions like Atlas or ezTrans XP, and in some cases even surpassing certain online services. Of course, some users noted that Gemini still struggles with certain language pairs, but since this is Google’s first release for the model, we can reasonably expect things to improve from here on.

Better Standard Utilities

The new engine also brings several built-in utilities that previously had to be developed manually. For example, native modal dialog, and the loading indicator in the top-left corner of the app has already proven to be quite useful.

AI Translation at Half the Cost

Not everyone is ready to pay high prices for premium AI translation services. With this in mind, I’ve overhauled the Batch API and Batch Manager so Translator++ can now support services beyond OpenAI. Google Gemini has already been added, and more services will follow.

This means you can access the same advanced AI models that others are using—at half the price, Guaranteed!

All these features are available in Translator++ version 7.9.

Thank you once again for your continued support. It’s because of you that Translator++ can keep moving forward and exploring these new possibilities.

Happy translating,
